Knative: Operator’s Handbook

Retrying event delivery

By default, Knative has no built-in mechanisms to retry delivering an event to a target.

This is currently achieved by the built-in retry capabilities of the underlying Channel implementation.

Most durable Channel implementations1 will retry delivery of the messages if the [Subscriber] fails to respond with success (HTTP 200 OK).

Each Channel implementation has different delivery and retry guarantees. Refer to their documentation.

  1. The default channel implementation (i.e. InMemoryChannel) does not do any retries. ↩︎
